Ok so this isn’t a daily posting but I have had so many people ask me as I’ve travelled around what were my favourite parts of the US and Canada and “Can I pls have the song list that you have compiled?” So due to popular demand here is a designated blog that just answers the above questions! The Best of North America
Most spectacular scenery on the trip= Icefield Parkway, Banff to Jasper in Alberta
“Must see again” part of Nth America= Utah and the Arizona deserts
Best accommodation= Signal Mountain Lodge in Grand Teton NP
Best music= Ground Zero in Clarkesdale, Mississippi
Best day out= Day 43 of Peaks, Plateaus and Prairies—the day when we saw Grizzleys, Beavers, Moose, Bald Eagles and floated down the extremely picturesque Snake River in the Grand Teton NP
Best attraction= Royal Tyrell Palaeontology Museum in Drumheller, Alberta
Best adventure= This one was tie between Skiing in Whistler, BC with my extended family and Whitewater Rafting the Nantahala in Nth Carolina
Best Food= Seafood in Apalachicola at a restaurant called “Hole in the Wall”
Most memorable Drink = Moonshine cocktails in Shenandoah NP (probably not the best but certainly will never be forgotten)
“Must Do” Drives (in no particular order)=
– Eastern Sierra Nevada Mountains- Lake Tahoe to Death Valley, California
– Icefield Parkway- Banff to Jasper, Alberta
– Painted Deserts- Grand Canyon to Monument Valley (Route 89 into 98)
– Mississippi Valley- New Orleans to St Louis with a must stop at Natchez
– Yellowstone NP- Grand Teton NP up thru Yellowstone and into Glacier NP
– Blue Ridge Parkway- Anywhere in the Blue Ridge Mts of Virginia and Tennessee with a stop in at Gatlinburg!
