8: Relaxation!

11.04.2012 – 11.04.2012 semi-overcast 10 °C

Another early start with T&J joining us for a nice leasurly brekky in our room. Discovered that J had somehow managed to have his left foot blow right up so that then meant that two of us were not going to be able to ski today! Me with my bung knee and J with his dodgy foot.

T&D took off and hit the slopes and J& I went hunting the doctor and the pharmacy. Once I had purchased a knee brace I found myself a coffee shop to send my blog and do some emailing.

We had all agreed to meet at the pub at the base of the Whistler gondola at midday. Lunch rolled around and we had ordered some really tasty Nachos and a bucket of chips with sauce.. Yummy! The weather today is quite warm so we decided to sit outside and soak up the atmosphere of Whistler. (Whistler is a really fun town to spend some time in.. plenty of bars and coffee shops and of course that gorgeous view of the mountains!)

The weather started to roll in after lunch so I wasn’t too unhappy that I was holed up in the room reading my book. M had a curry cooking on the stove so it wasn’t too bad an afternoon to sit back with a good book, a cuppa and the beautiful smells that were coming out of the pot! Before dinner, I decided that come ‘rain, hail or shine’ I was out skiing the next day so to ensure that I would go out skiing, I booked myself in for a morning lesson!

J&T joined us for dinner and to watch the ice hockey playoffs on the tv (Vancouver lost). I have to admit that ice hockey reminds me of ‘stacks on’ with big meat-axe men on ice! It is an entertaining sport to watch, so I can sort of understand why the Canadian’s are so nuts for their sport.. but really… Michelin men with helmets… hmmm

  1. You should try some poutine and beaver tails while you are there! If you like sushi go to Sachi Sushi! MMMMM my favorite.

  2. It’s really cold here today and nearly froze my ears off riding into work, then I read about your nachos and bucket of chips…mmm I know what I’m going to have for lunch, except I’m afraid the local variety won’t be quite as good.
