10: Pebbles

13.04.2012 – 13.04.2012 semi-overcast 16 °C

Our last wake up in Whistler this morning. Had brekky with T&J again before we said good bye as they went out and hit the slopes. We spent an hour or so wandering the village (me in search of a non-existent souvenir… I just couldn’t find what I wanted) and checked out the site’s and sounds of this skiing festival that starts at lunch time today… (wouldn’t that be right, we leave just as everything really kicks into gear)

Our drive began again today from Whistler and took us back along the Sea to Sky hwy to Vancouver and from there down thru the border to Camano Island. All in all, the drive probably took us four-ish hours and was a very pretty drive particularly thru Northern Washington state.. plenty of mountains and fir trees!

The island itself is really gorgeous. It is perched almost half way between Vancouver and Seattle and is on the Puget sound. Our hosts, Shelly and David are just lovely and have made us feel right at home. Their house is set on a hill overlooking the sound and we rounded out our day wandering down on the beach front in front of their house.

  1. I know what you mean about trying to find the perfect souvenir. I once did an inspection at a place that manufactures souvenirs and couldn’t believe how bad some of the merchandise is. surely there is a market for great, portable souvenirs. Puget Sound looks awesome.
