1: London’s calling

Got myself off and going this morning by updating my online blog before heading to Gare de Nord to catch the Eurostar here to London! I managed to get really lucky and got a seat next to an American lady who is in Europe for work so we had a great chat all the way to London. The train trip only takes two and a bit hours and the best thing about the train is that you leave downtown Paris and arrive at Kings Cross in London!

After catching the tube the three stops I arrived at St Paul’s where my hostel is one block from the incredible cathedral. At a cost of 30 pounds a night this hostel is an absolute bargain here in London. It’s an old Choir Boys house (where the choir boys of St Paul’s used to live) that has been remodelled as a hostel. It probably isn’t the most swish hostel I’ve stayed in but it is really homey and there are heaps of lovely people staying here so I think I’m on a winner for the week!

Did some laundry and then went for a walk down towards Westminster. I spent a couple of hours just getting my bearings and working out the city. Walked down Fleet St into the Strand before arriving at Trafalgar Square! I then had some tasty Chinese in China town before heading back for a good sleep.
